Hello, Itch.io! It's been a while since we posted a Henchman Story update here. During our brief gasps for air during the development process, we've been focused primarily on keeping our Kickstarter backers informed, but we know there are lots of folks who played the demo here who might be wondering how development is coming along. So to get you all up to speed:

• The Script is Complete - Clocking in at over 200,000 words, the script is a whole lot bigger than we expected, and it has a ton of player choice and reactivity. Even the longest possible route to one of the game's 11 endings will see less than half of the game's script, and each ending features an extended epilogue. 
• Voice Acting Is Underway - We have gotten the ball rolling on our VO process, and recording officially scheduled to begin within the week.
• Coding Is Progressing - The script is being converted to game code at a steady pace, and we anticipate that we'll hit a major milestone with it soon.

Once we get a little further along and know exactly when the full game is completed, we plan to announce a final, definitive release date for Henchman Story, and it's one that we plan to stick to. That's why we're being careful about committing to one - our goal is to give you a reliable date that you can bank on.

Once that release date is announced we will open up our Itch.io page to pre-orders! Why wait until then? Well, we take your trust seriously, While backing a Kickstarter has a bit of inherent risk, when you pre-order a game from a storefront, you expect to know when that game will be delivered with relative certainty - at least I do. 

When that day comes, we will be sure to let all of you know. Henchman Story made its first public appearance on Itch.io, and we're committed to supporting it here right up until its final update - DRM free. So stay tuned, and thanks to the everyone here who has played the demo, added the game to a collection, left a rating or given us a follow.
