First, thank you so much to everyone who played the demo of Henchman Story! That’s why we spend all this time and effort making games - so people can play and enjoy them. It’s been incredibly rewarding to watch.

But yes, you read that title right, Henchman Story is on its way to Kickstarter on Tuesday, September 29th. To get notified the minute the Kickstarter goes live, you can subscribe to our pre-launch page here:

At that time, we’ll also have a brand new trailer, and a little more information about the specifics of the game, so stay tuned! “Why Kickstarter though?” you ask. Good question, and I’d understand why you’d ask it! Going the crowdfunding route isn’t something I’m taking lightly, I spent a long time considering it. 

As it stands, the game is pretty deep into development - much of the art and writing is complete, and we have a good grasp on the coding aspects that lie ahead. However we want Henchman Story to be the best visual novel it can be, and that requires full voice acting, a custom soundtrack, and enough budgetary wiggle room to polish the experience to perfection. Right now our budget doesn’t have room for all of that, so we’re turning to Kickstarter to see if we can make that happen.

So whether it’s in the form of a donation, a retweet or a show of encouragement, we’d appreciate whatever help you can offer, and we’ll do our best to you a fun, exciting experience worthy of your time and support.
